Police responded to an active shooter situation Saturday at Brown University near an engineering building on the Providence campus, according to the school’s alert system.

At least two people have been killed and several more injured in a shooting in the area of Brown University on Rhode Island.

Campus alerts had warned students of an active shooter and urged them to remain hidden until further notice, locking doors and silencing phones.

The jury is set to continue deliberations in the trial of a father of three accused of killing and dismembering his wife, Ana Walshe.

Jurors began their deliberations Friday after closing arguments were presented in the Brian Walshe murder trial.
