BDF is supporting a multi-year habitat restoration project led by Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Forest Service, in the Southern Cascade Mountains of Oregon. This past summer, the first project thinned overgrown white fir and cedar, opening the understory to forage and cover plants for black-tailed deer, including mountain huckleberry that has sustained deer and local tribes for generations.
