Pensacola Bay Bridge repair teams are at work reconstructing multiple bridge spans in an effort to return traffic to the structure the week of May 31. Each bridge span measures 150-feet in length and consists of underwater pilings; three-part trophy pieces made up of water line footers, columns, and caps; concrete beams; and bridge decks. Unlike the piles, trophy pieces, and beams that are pre-fabricated at the nearby Bayou Chico casting yard, the decks are constructed of cast-in-place concrete.
