This Art Basel weekend, Hampton University staff had the privilege of visiting The Historic Hampton House @historichamptonhouseofficial in Miami, FL. Built in 1954, the Hampton House served as a vital gathering place during the Civil Rights era of the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s. It was a safe haven for Black travelers at a time when they were not permitted to stay on Miami Beach.
